The LOOKjoint provides free web and systems development to nonprofit organizations. We are dedicated to making a positive impact in the digital space and building the operational capacity of nonprofit organizations.
The Look Joint is a tribute to the artistry, innovation, ingenuity, creativity, and refuge for Black people provided by Juke (jo͞ok, jo͝ok) joints during slavery & post-Reconstruction. The LOOKjoint supports community organizations in creating digital platforms to serve as epicenters of information. inquiry.
Complete the online form to get started. You will be asked to provide initial information about your project or goals. You will be asked to include preferences you have regarding style, branding, and website functionality. After submission, you’ll receive a confirmation email and next steps.
intro
meeting.
Attend a 1:1 meeting to discuss your goals and vision. During the meeting, you'll outline your brand values, target audience, and any design preferences you may have for your website. We will also discuss tools and platforms that will be used throughout the project and define a timeline for completion.
brand
guide.
Based on the initial consultation, a customized style guide will be developed. This guide will serve as the foundation for your branding and website design, detailing elements such as color schemes, fonts, logo usage, and overall visual tone.
planning meeting.
During this meeting, we will finalize your brand guide and create a timeline that allows for efficiency while ensuring a high quality website. The timeline will outline various phases and tasks involved in creating a website, from the initial planning stages to the final launch and post-launch activities.
website launch.
This phase begins wireframing and prototyping to provide visual layouts and user flows, followed by the design phase, where the website's look and feel are crafted. Meanwhile, content creation ensures text, images, and media are ready. In the development phase, the site is built and made functional, followed. We conduct quality assurance and testing to fix bugs and optimize performance. After you review the site and we make final revisions, the site will undergo pre-launch setup, during which we will configure hosting, domains, and SEO tools. On Launch Day, you will see the site go live.
training.
The training session for website management is designed to equip clients with the skills to confidently maintain and update their site. During this hands-on session, we will cover the basics of managing your website, including how to add or edit content, upload images, manage blog posts, and update product listings. We’ll also demonstrate how to handle basic SEO tasks and monitor site performancThe goal is to empower clients to manage their website independently while providing ongoing support when needed.
